PFTI ASCH-CERTIFIED TRAININGSThe American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) is the largest organization for professionals practicing clinical hypnosis. It is prestigious and rigorous — certification by ASCH means that you are a well-trained clinician who holds the highest ethical and professional standards. ASCH offers certification to Master’s level-and-above psychotherapists and other health-care professionals at two levels. “Certification” requires minimum 60 hours of sequential training — the first 40 are “workshop,” the final 20 are consultation hours in a group of six or less. You must be an ASCH member, be licensed in your profession and have two years of independent practice utilizing clinical hypnosis. The higher level, “Approved Consultant,” comprises the above requirements plus 60 additional hours of workshop training, five years of independent practice and five years of ASCH or equivalent organization membership. All trainings must be ASCH-approved. "Becoming an Approved Consultant has expanded my financial and clinical opportunities." — PFTI Student

WINTER 200960-HOUR BEGINNING ERICKSONIAN WORKSHOP TRAINING FOR ASCH CERTIFICATION This ASCH-Certified training in Ericksonian hypnosis is geared toward participants who wish to learn and integrate the unique language, art, and science of unconscious communication and healing as developed and practiced by Milton H. Erickson, MD, Virginia Satir, Moshe Feldenkrais, and Kay Thompson, DDS. Focusing on the self-development of the therapist and conducted in a learning environment of safety and playfulness, the training gives solid grounding in conscious and unconscious communication and can be applied to any theoretical orientation. We seek to refine the art of being a therapist rather than the act of doing therapy. We work with our natural unconscious language and its effect on the body and on awareness. Our goal is to amplify excellence and elegance. We use didactic, demonstration, videotape, group support and extensive practice with personalized supervision. "This training changed my work and my life." — PFTI Student
TWO 20-HOUR CONSULTATION GROUPS (CAN BE USED FOR ASCH CREDIT) These 20-hour individualized training/consultation groups are for advanced hypnotherapists who have Master’s level-and-above to accumulate the required hours of individualized training for certification by ASCH. The groups have been designed to enhance hypnotic skills and deepen the knowledge and practice of hypnosis in psychotherapy. Participants will present cases and learn to amplify their creative intervention strategies in order to further develop their personal hypnotherapeutic styles. The work will be rigorous and enjoyable – it is hoped participants will explore new areas that challenge them. "The safety of sharing my clinical goofs was exhilarating." — PFTI Student
